|  Topic: Basics to be followed while planning a residential house
Hello,
Am a graduate civil engineer,, working since 1 yr as Quantity surveyor. Am interested in planning a residential house for 60'x40' east facing site. But i have minimum knowledge abt planning as am a beginner,, Can u plz give me the feedbacks for the attached drawing of house plan. And plz suggest wer can i learn the practical basics of planning?

Dear Girija, hello...! as you are a Civil Engineer, It is a wide field of Construction of almost every need of human,And I am sure you might have basic knowledge of construction of very small buildings ,Irrigation structures (Stop Dam,spillways ,canal,etc.)Highways bridges ,culverts,Railway Engg. TrafficEngg. Town planning etc... etc.The residential building construction is just a small part of it,,..The following points should be considered for basics of house/residential planning ..1.Go through Building Bylaws of your State.It will give you idea of the permissible constructed area on various plot sizes and set back on plot. 2.Try to learn about specific sizes of Rooms like Drawing rm.,Dining rm.,Bed rooms, kitchen,store, Toilets, pooja rm.,dressing rm,Garage,parking etc.It is very much necessary .in planning. 3, Try to observe the movements inside and out side the building.,It is helpful in planning.
