Hi, its my personal experience and advice to you.
Usually construction materials costs reduced in rainy season and labour also available plenty compared to winter and summer season.

Apr2009 - Rs. 100 per sqft of slab area; Aug2009 - Rs. 120 per sqft of slab area ; Dec2009 - Rs. 128 per sqft of slab area ; Apr2010 - Rs. 135 per sqft of slab area ; Jun2010 - Rs. 150 per sqft of slab area; Sep2009 - Rs. 155 per sqft of slab area ; Nov2010 - Rs. 170 per sqft of slab area.
Typical building construction matrial price as below.
Cement - Rs 155 to 240 per bag. steel -Rs 37000 to 42000 per MT. bricks -Rs 3.2 to 4 per brick. sand -Rs. 8000 to 12000 per truck from 130km away. local sand- 1200/tractor. crushed stone gravel - 7000/m3. Teakwood(2nd class) - Rs 1500/cft. Marble - Rs 35/sqft. birla white Rs 750/ bag.
Costruction cost of my house comes to Rs. 760/sqft. ( Labour 215 + Material 545). This labour includes basic structure, plumbing, electrical, wood work, flooring and painting. only elevation art work not included. Construction started in Apr-2010 and expected to complete by Dec-2010.
Above rates are actually paid be me. Hope that it may help to judge construction of your house.
