 Topic: CANTILEVER BEAM
Sir,
i would like to know i can plan a cantilever beam
of length 9 feet long in the north east portion  of my
construction to provide space for additional car parking
i am attaching my floor plan.

Dear Srinivas ji..Kindly mention column sizes, positions and reinforcement in columns,if it is okay , a Cantilever beam can be planned...A long cantilever beam should be avoided, if possible ,provide Columns to support structure,especially in Earthquake Zones.. Regards.

           As stated by Sh Navneet Jharia you can plane with column and avoid cantilever. In case if you want cantilever than I am in opinion you should have proper structure design from civil engineer.

Join date: Aug 2012		Cantilever upto 5 or 6 feet is enough, but 9 feet is too much. You must avoide it in residence. Make an extra column.
