 Topic: Cellar is good or bad ?
Hi Folks,

I have bought a plot recently approx outskirts of town and rapid growing area with a proper layout.

Plot dimensions are : 22 width * 57.25 length -- north face house

I have to build a house along with some commercial purpose which has to be used for a normal grocery shop to ware house for our textile shop or supermarket in future for this layout.

i am in view of constructing cellar (underground or basement) with total empty space so that can be used for multipurposes such as super market or textiles godown or hotel or some other needy business for this layout.

Ground floor a 2 or 3 bhk residential house.

Surprisingly, with my research in online i could find many negative responses for cellar both as per vastu or in residential area  and 2 out of 10 only said you can build cellar.

could any of you give me the detailed idea how and why not cellar can be build, if build what is the problem?

According Vadic vastu there is clear that the any place below road level is not preferred as per vastu.
Also it is markable when vastu shashtra come in force (First introduce in Yagurved) there is no any concept to build basement or cellar.
Basement is not prefered location for showroom as per architectural too.
Reason for not prefer cellar:
1- Basement required special attention for water proffing and ventilation.
2- In emergency escape from basemen is not fast.
3- No proper view from road.
4- You have less width of plot and ramp required half width of your plot and also required half depth of your plot.

Reason for prefer cellar:
1- No connection with residence. separate entry for cellar and residence
2- High economic value so special construction and cost is affordable.
3-Properly design for architectural needs.
4- Separate the vastu pind of residence from your cellar because vastu purush not accept cellar.

Thanks for clear cut distinction.

Yes as i have very less width there are more cons compared to pros for this plot to use cellar. With the basis of all research .

Am planning to go ahead for building only ground floor upfront with half car park and remaining half for small shop and remaining back for residential house.
on top of this first floor will be built as residential . Incase if any need occurs commercially will use same first floor for business needs.

Whats your opinion on this ?
