Topic: Check the load

Hi Experts,

We had constructed a house 4 years back(30 X 41 ft).It had a single double bed room house with car parking in ground floor and then 3 single bedroom houses in first floor and second floor each.It had a single bed room house in the 3rd floor(300 sq ft).
We have 12+1+1(14) pillars in the ground floor and 12+1(13) pillars runing all the floors. The dimension of pillar is 15 inch / 6 inch.
Last year we constructed 2 more houses in the 3rd floor similar to 1st and 2nd floors. While constructing we used only 2 pillars which were left for extension with the 6 pillars which were already used by the single bed room house.

Just want to know if the pillars are able to sustain this load..
Thanks in advance..

Dear Dilip
The strength of column/ pillar depends on the size of pillar, MS steel bars used in the pillar and ratio of cement concrete used in the pillar.
The foundation of pillar also to be taken in account while designing the pillar for the load coming on it.
The loading is depend upon the span of the pillar i.e. distance between pillars in both  ways.
It is advisable to take help from local civil engineer , who can give advice after inspecting the house.

Thanks for your reply sir..the size of the pillar is 15x6 inch..I dont know the exact size of ms steel bars and cement ratio being used.

Each pillar is at a distance of 10ft from each other on one side and 11 ft from each other..A total of 12+2(14) pillars in grand floor and 13 pillars extending further..

Could you pleas advice based on your vast experience.,
Thanks...
