 Topic: Columns marking

Hi,

How are you all?

Please help me with this plan. Plan is attached here and same plan will go to first floor( G+F)

1.    1.    Kindly mark the minimum number of columns that I may need.

2.      2.  Right side of the plot there is 2 storey building so I do want to go for 4.5 inch wall thickness to save some space. Kindly mark other places where I can replace 9 inch thick wall with 4.5 inch thick wall

3.       3. Any other suggestions related to plan like changing in rooms or cancellation of stores etc

 

 

Your any help will be highly appreciated.

Hello,, Anamika, Column positions are marked according to plan, There may be problem of cross ventilation in this plan,so kindly provide sufficient ventilation over the doors of both bed rooms. please see the plan attached.   Regards

But columns are too much. It will increase my house cost enormously

                  For proper design, drawing and MS Steel bars it is better to take help from structural engineer.
The depth of foundation is taken from the bearing capacity of soil/ land. In general the foundation depth should be up to hard strata of soil and minimum 4 feet.The size , number of column and other component can be calculated after the structural design. Because in  the design the thickness of foundation, size of column and MS Steel is calculated according to load coming or bear by the foundation irrespective of bearing capacity of soil and taking safety factor and safety from earth quack etc.
In my opinion you should act according to technically as your project is big and take no risk for a small amount of design. If we have proper design than we save the cost by tentative method and with safety in mind.
