IT IS POSSIBLE AS THE BRICKWORK OF THE FIRST FLOOR IS OF FOUR AND A HALF INCHES AND THERE WILL BE NO PROBLEM ,IF REQUIRED U CAN USE STEP-UP COLUMNS IN FIRST FLOOR.

Join date: Feb 2008 | Dear Aamir, As pradeep rightly said, it is possible to have different wall layouts on the first floor. If you are constructing the building from start, your structure engineer would give you beam layouts for the roof that would be able to carry the load of walls. Also 4 and a half inches non-load bearing partition walls can be constructed to give partitions between rooms.
It is recommended that the bathrooms should be kept above bathrooms so that the cost of the pipes would be reduced.
