|  Topic: Footings and Ground Work
Dear Guptaji
I hav a friend who's a builder.
He told me that, commonly, the cost of the footings & ground work will be "30% sft from the total slab area (sft) ".
Example: If the total slab area is 10000sft @ Rs.900/sft, then the total sf for footings & ground work will be 3000sft@ Rs. 900/sft
Is It True Sir???

As per your question I under stand about footings i.e. you mean footing of columns but ground work is not clear. In ground work which work you want to take, write your quarry in detail so that one can be able to answer your question properly. | | |

What i mean with the term ground work is the "Entire Process" involved in laying a foundation (with columns) and formation of the floor to the plinth level of the ground.
My query is about a G+3 group housing project. Its' total slab area is 10650sft.
At the rate of Rs.900/sft, how much does it cost approximately to complete the above-mentioned "ground work"?

I follow your point, you want expenditure on the foundation of house up to plinth level or floor level. The cost of foundation depends upon many things i.e.
i. Bearing capacity of soil, it means if bering capacity is less than cost of foundation is more.
ii. Cost is also depends on the height of building, i.e. if a building is single story than cost of foundation is less than the multy story building.
iii, If we made earth quack safety meaure than we have to provide plinth beam etc which increase the cost.
iv. Cost is also affected with specification, plan of building etc.
