Topic: Foundation

Hi,
Nice to meet you all. I have a query regarding foundation. Plot is 22.5*40 feet.  I would be building G + 1st floor  ( and may be 1/2 storey more in future). Nine inches thick brick wall at boundaries and 41/2 inches partions. 8 or 9 pillars of 9"*9"

Question 1. The earth level of my plot is around 2 feet 4 inches below the road level. Road is partially complete i.e Sewerage is there but strret not ready yet. Soil is hard as per mistri's and my view. how much should i dug the earth which is already 2 feet 4 inches below the road level?

Question 2. should I start with 18 inches thick brick foundation or 23 inches thick or 27 inches thick?

Thank you for your suggestions in advance

Dear Rohit Sharma
             1. You should excavate earth in foundation at least 2feet and keep floor level at least 2 feet high from street or road.
2. When you are constructing RCC columns than keep the width of foundation width 23''

Hi Rohit,

1. Foundation should be at least 2-3 feet and floor level should be at least 1.5 feet from the road level.
2. Take the foundation at least 23" and above.

Post subject: Columns foundation

Hello sir,

Please Look at 3 attachments 1. GF  2.  FF  3 Foundation as given by engineer

Now, Questions about gound floor.
1. Please look at map if columns are marked rightly or sufficient? I want medium quality home to save some bucks, but also do not want to compromise the safety of residents in a building

2. at some places columns are spaced at even 17 to 19 feet distance, is it okay?
all columns are 9*9 with 5 bars of 12mm as per engineer( But I'm planning to use 6 bars of 12mm)

3. you are free to add or minus the columns. Need your kind advice

Now, Questions about Foundation

This foundation is given by engineer without personal visit at the site.
1. M going with 23 base at the foundation as per your suggestions.
2. Is concrete bed at the bottom is necessary or can I use Roori ( crushed bricks)?
3. How about using second class bricks in the foundation? will it be safe for about 2 or 2.5 storeys?

Now, Questions about first floor.

Can i extend 1st floor walls to 4.5 inches thick instead of 9 inches? because i used 9 inches wall at the ground floor and now there is only roof weight is there. Especially at the front side of the first floor?

Thank you in advance

Ground floor:
1. Check the pic attached for columns, red ones are must have's, brown one's are if u can.
2. Columns should be placed with a gap of  10-12-15 ft. Use at least 16 mm tmt bar for columns.

Foundation:
1. Good
2. As u wish.
3. yes you can.

FF:
Try to use 9" wall for more life.
