I have started foundation work on my north facing plot of 30x64 sq. feet.We have opted for Load bearing structure instead of column.But the foundation does not go deep due to heavy rock structure below the plot.At some places, depth is below 1 feet due to a hard rock structure say 4 inch to 6 inch.The contractor has also told that it will excavate till the hard rock comes.Anyway, the depth is not more than 1 feet at any place on plot.The plot level is approx. 2-2.5 ft below the road level & the contractor says that he will fill the area by 2-2.5 ft above the road level i.e the total filling will be approx 5 ft.You are requested to suggested to provide the optimum solution.

Join date: May 2014		It is ok if you are getting a foundation of 5 ft, 1 ft is not suggested.
