The material of almirah will have following parts:
1. Board for Body. The Back will be thin ply while side and shelves will be 12mm Boards. 2. Shutter or Doors which will be 12 mm Board with Laminate / Veneer pasted on it . 3. Hardwar like Handle, Rod, Slider for Drawers 4. Misc. items
You first finalise design and then estimate the material cost.

Advantage of Board over Ply for shutter/door is that Board have wood battens inside. They make the board remain straight and if size is big ( 6-7 feet) this becomes very important.
