Installation of solid load bearing granite/sandstone columns.

           In my view it is uery difficult to give any detail about granite columns on the practical base because in general there are trend to use red stone pillar  in the house in old days in absence of RCC. Now a days only these pillars are used in any monumental works. Granite pillar is very much strong in respect of red stone pillar but due to cost effect it is not in use. If your goodself want practical quarry about this than you should take information from granite stone prouducing centre and might find any old religious place.

i failed to furnish clearcut information. as you mentioned it is not the column which we see in the temples. but it is nothing but architectural columns  as per the attached picture. i believe now you can get some clarity over the topic.
