jaisalmer stone is porous & retains water. it should be avoided in wet areas like bathrooms as it promotes bacterial growth. also it will lose its golden colour and blackens on continuous exposure to water. | |

Dear Radha,
Jaisalmer stone is a
metamofhic rocks capable of taking polish formed from lime stones. The
Jaisalmer yellow polished range has superior features related to resistance
against wear and tear, abrasion etc. The tiles (made of Jaisalmar Stones) are equally good for bath room
flooring.

I
want to clarify my answer given earlier. Actually Jaisalmer stone is
highly recommended for wall claddings. But there are types of Jaisalmer stone.
One is Yellow Jaisalmer, which is almost same as Granite stone. Yellow Jaisalmer
is hard and scratch resistant. It can be used in floors. Also it can be used
for bathroom wet areas. It is not highly recommended for Bathrooms. As there
are more other options available for bathroom flooring. Jaisalmer stone is used
for flooring, wall claddings, counter tops, sinks, etc.
There is another variety
in Jaisalmer- Pink Jaisalmer. It is delicate, soft and can be used in
wall paneling. It is not recommended for flooring, countertops, sinks
etc.
