Dear Harsh, It depends upon which type of construction you want to do..1. to save money, time and exertion,,go for Lab+Material contractor, but beaware of cheators,Fix the specifications first and check it during construction, take help of Architect or Engineer for technical supervision.
2. If you hire a reliable Architect or Engineer for designing and technical Supervision of construction and you have sufficient time for arranging materials, then go for Only labour contractor , who work under the guidence of Arch./Engr.Mainly it is in practice when you want a Quality construction without any compromise,it shows your involvement with the HOUSE to be constructed. | |

Thanks for your answer.Pls clarify one more doubt.... You said that labour + material contract will be cost effective. But dont you think that if suppose i can get the same quality building made by both routes, ie via a labour only contract and also via a labour plus material contract, then between these two types of contract, the labour only contract will be cheaper as contractor will not take margin on materials. You can assume i have enought time to arrange for material and periodic technical inspection by engineer/architect.
