Join date: Jun 2013 | Look at environmentally friendly Laminate flooring. It looks just like wood floor, does not warp (bend with humidity) nor expand with heat. It is scratch resistant and you can have peace of mind for nearly twenty years. Not sure of your reasons to do this, but there is tile that looks like wood, that would be more environmentally sustainable for India - we do not have selective logging and replantation like in other countries that do use wood floors and wood substrates.
Think hard before you go with this choice, because any damage after install you will be running after the contractor to get it fixed.
If you do decide to go with it, buy 10% more that you need and store for future damage repair. If there is spillage, your wood floor will most likely be toast.
