|  Topic: Leaks in roof
The roof was laid on Nov 03.After 17 days on Nov 20, when the centering was removed we could find some leakages in the roof especially in the toilet roof(Please advise. 1) What are possible reasons for the leakage 2)How to fix this issue 3)will the fix be permanent 4) will there be any damages to the steel structure due to this leakage. |

Join date: May 2014 | 1) What are possible reasons for the leakage - Lantel not done properly, but its normal. 2)How to fix this issue - it can be cured at the time of ghol of cement on the above surface and at time of installation of tiles. 3)will the fix be permanent - yes 4) will there be any damages to the steel structure due to this leakage.- No

At the time of
laying RCC slab/ roof , some quantity of half mixed cement concrete is
laid due to slackness of labor or mason and where proper compaction
is not doen with vibrator this type of problem arises.
Mark the portion of leakage, rough it and put some thick cement water and cure it.
After laying floor, the problem will be eliminate.. | | |

Join date: Aug 2012 | If one more floor is going to be built upon it then no big issue.
Is it the last roof slab, then apply "water proof coating" named "Damp-proof" from asian paints. then apply cement slurry, then place tiles.
