Join date: Jul 2008 | I think the concept of Modular Kitchen is mis-understood. The concept started in European and American market and the finishes used in those markets are completely different from the Indian market. The concept of Modular Kitchen means that each part of the kitchen is designed as a module and then it is fitted together to build a kitchen. The biggest advantage of modular kitchen is that if one module breaks then it can be replaced very easily.
In the Indian conditions, the concept of modular kitchen is equally valid however some of the international vendors who entered Indian market used the same material and finishing that was being used abroad. In that case the material and finishing was not suited for Indian conditions and hence it created problem.
If we choose the material properly, the modular kitchen concept is the best concept that could happen for kitchen. I am in the process of finishing my home and I can say that this concept will be very good if we implement it properly.
