Dear Joe Kurian

You should contact structural engineer ( civil engineer) near by your city or town who can advice you properly after inspecting the site and some lab. test, bearing capicity of soil etc are also necessary to calculate the foundation depth and other design. My advice is that do proper treatment according to design, you are spending huge amount to construct your dream house and the expenditure on the design is negligible.

As a consulting engineer i would suggest you not to go for pile foundations, its not feasible as per economical point of view. You must go deep within until you find a hard rock and get the samples tested with a geotechnical laboratory near your place.

I recommend you a STRUCTURAL ENGINEER for stability of the structure and  A  ARCHITECT for asthetics point of view.

Again you must appoint a CIVIL ENGINEER who visits your site twice a week and co- ordinate with the structural designer and architect. This is a practice which no owner wants to put in practice.

YOU SPENDS LAKHS OF RUPEES IN BUILDING YOUR DREAM HOME AND NEGLECTS SOME 3 TO 5 THOUSAND RUPEES BY AVOIDUNG A CIVIL ENGINEER IS NOT A GOOD PRACTICE.

Thanking You

hi  Arun

i cosulted a civil engneer they tested the soil after digging down.they found hard sooil 6 meters beneeth. The end result was to go for a piller raft foundation.Which sound like we need to put pillars to the hard soil and make raft on top and build above.Or to go for raft foundation which basicaly spread the weight across..
