Topic: Plot 1200 Sq. Ft, Need suggestions for constructing a house.

Hi Experts,

I am a new comer here. And new to construction field too. Shortly I am planning to construct a house and want to take complete charge of the project, Ground plus 3 floors in Bangalore. I need suggestions before starting.

Plot is 1200 Sq. Ft (30x40). Our plan is for a Ground plus 3 Floors with ample parking space.

1.What is the maximum area that we can construct the house?
2.Is the basement a good idea or not? any alternative suggestions?
3.How much material required for each floor construction?
4.What should be the size of pillars and the maximum distance between two pillars?

Kindly share your expert advise and guide me.

Dear Raja
1 You can take the information about the area of construction from your municipal corporation.
2. Basement is good idea according to my view as cost of land is very high.
3.For material calculation first prepare the drawing of building and finalize the specification after that material can be calculated.

4. The design of R C C columns, beams and slab is designed according to load bear by them taking factor of safety from earth quack, bearing capacity of soil etc in consideration. For basement and other 2 stories it is better to take design from structural engineer.
