My father is constructing a house in ASSAM, Dibrugarh Distt (india) and its a 2000 sq ft house. and he had used 12 mm rod (4) and 9 mm rod (2) in the poles and uptil now he had made ground floor but now we are planning to go for first floor. but i want to know how many floor we can construct safely...so please advice.

The size and M S Steel bars in RCC Column are depend upon the load bear by the RCC Column, span i.e. distance between the columns are also affects the loading. It is not possible to tell without studing the drawings of the house. If you want to clearify this then send the drawing.
