Four miners were successfully rescued on January 29, 2016 after being trapped in more than 200 meters (650 feet) deep underground for 36 days. The accident took place at a gypsum mine in Shandong, one of China's eastern provinces. Sany's SAC300T hoister and STC750 truck crane were used as part of the rescue operation. The Sany Hoisting Machinery general manager quickly mobilized a technical team consisting hydraulic, electrical and mechanical engineers, and a Sany Guantai rescue team to provide technical support and service on site.
Due to the site's complicated geological condition, the rescue team had to first drill a small hole to send through basic necessities to the trapped miners. Thereafter, a larger hole was drilled and the Sany SAC300T hoister, along with special rigging equipment and a rescue capsule were used to lift the four miners to safety, one by one. As one of China’s most important heavy machinery manufacturer, Sany showed its strong social responsibility and proved the excellent performance of its products in this rescue operation which were highly praised by the public. Sany's rescue efforts in the form of high-performance equipment and technical personnel were also highly praised by the public, as the company reaffirms its commitment to providing effective service to local communities.
