Size of the Roof Level Beam in RCC framed structure

 Topic: Size of the Roof Level Beam in RCC framed structure
I am using RCC framed structure for construting a house using concrete hollow blocks for external walls (8"x8"x16") and solid concrete blocks (4"x8"x12") for partition walls.

I am using a grid of columns. The size of the column is 1'x'1 and the maximum distance between columns is 15'. There will be a lintel band at the height of 7'.

The outer walls are 8" thick and the partition walls are 4" thick.

What should be the safe size of the beam considering that I may go in for a second storey in future and considering that lintel beam is kept out of calculation ?

Dear Arvind, Hello..! Kindly plan first floor according to your requirements,and get it structurally designed with the help of Structural Engineer to get correct sizes of beams and columns...Regards

       As said by Sh Navneet Jharia the correct method is to have proper structure design according to loading. If you want tentative size of beam is 9''x 18''.18'' means 13''+5'' the thickness of slab.
