Topic: Terrace water proofing

The building construct before three years. And no any terracing work done at the time of construction.

At present water log on terrace, and seepage start from roof.

Roof is R.C.C. on frame structure building. Terrace area is more than 4000 sft.

I like to know the details for best way of terracing and water proofing with per sft cost in UP.

S L Gupta (Civil Engg) Join date: Mar 2008	Dear Jain You have a good knowledge about engineering. In my opinion, Clean and dry the roof surface than apply hot bitumen @ 1.65 kg per square meter than lay polythene sheet on bitumen surface while some what hot. Lay 1'' thick mud faska that mud with tura. After this lay good earth accordingly to maintain proper slope rammed and lay brick tiles with mud. After that grout the surface with cement coarse sand mortar 1;3. If needed do 1;2 flush cement pointing and cure it at least for 7 days.

Er.S.K.Jain Join date: May 2015	Post subject: Continue to Sri S L Gupta Dear Sir Sri S L Gupta, In present time many engineers suggest for polymer coating/ fiber net and different chemicals like Dr Fixit and other. Also what about brick bat coba treatment. it is very confusing what is better traditional as you suggest or by chemicals followed by brick coba or only brick coba. Please answer your guideline opinion in detail. Thanks for your knowledgeable answer.
