Hi Expert,
We are building a home with a local contractor in my village, having few question...
Foundation is ready and next, I want to go for filling column, beam and roof while my contractor suggesting to go for brick wall before column, beam and roof, he said there is chances for crack between column and wall or beam and wall if we go column, beam and roof without wall... Also he said can't take guarantee for crack, if go without wall construction. I saw both kind of construction in different cities but never heard about crack.
Please help me to understand both way of construction, I want to know your opinion to best construction steps.
Thanks, Bhuwan |

Hello..! Mr.Bhuwan.. The cracks between RCC column and brick work is mainly due to improper connection and can be removed by taking proper care during brickwork..I don't know about height of roof slab of your house, if it is more than 10' you need a lintel beam at 7' height i.e. at door top level..and it is a laborious practice to puncture a column and make a connection, that is why your contractor wants to go for brick work first..yes it is good for construction having load bearing walls...up to 2nd floor ... A frame Structure is used for multi storied buildings.....Regards

height of roof slab is 10'6'', actually I am planning for G+1 now, but in future I want to go upto G+3, contractor giving me the reason for brick work only for cracks between RCC column and bricks and he said, It's not necessary.. Can you tell me please, what kind of precautions he need to take care during the brick works, If we go with the frame structural design. thanks.
