|  Topic: duplex house plan
Hi Team,
My question is same as Geetika's question. I planned to have a duplex house in first floor and I have attached my current twin house in the ground floor. I have couple of question.
Is it advisable to build a a good design duplex over this twin house (see attached for the existing grounflor plan)?
If it ok to proceed with the exisitng ground floor foundation, I need to somebody's help to comeup with a great design.

You can build the duplex house.
As for design and safety of foundation you should contact any structural engineer who can be able to give necessary design after checking the old foundation of your house.

Hello All,
I am looking into adding to my existing 1 Kanal home in Chandigarh as well as completely remodelling the interior of the first and second floors.Here is what I am planning to do in terms of planning and execution. Can you please suggest anything that I might be overlooking?
1)
I do have a plan of what I want to do and have drawn a floor plan which I would like to have an architect to review it. Is this an acceptable route?
2) In terms of getting building approvals, would it be the contractor that I hire or would I have to do that myself? I am adding about 800-1000 sq.ft to the existing second floor that I have in addition to renovation.
3) In terms of hiring a contractor, is there a contract that is written , signed off by both parties and executed? I am an NRI and will not be present during the entire contruction phase so would like an intrument that is mutually signed and put in place for the project. Does one exist? Please advise.
4) I do have some local contacts/friends, e.g a good friend owns a brick kiln, another one owns a cement store, neighbors own- electrical supply, hardware supply stores so I can possible get good prices on items that will be needed for construction. Do I sign a labor only contract or labor and material contract with the contractor.
I apologize for too many questions. Any help is appreciated.

Sir, this is bindu from b’lore. We are planning to construct
a duplex house on a north facing 30’*55’ plot. We are a family of 4, (2+2
daughters). I have attached a few plans
in this regard for your reference. Pls suggest
an appropriate one with needed changes complying with vaastu. Also
specify that if there a bedroom on the southwest corner of a duplex house is it
necessary for the owner to reside in that room only or is it ok to stay in the
first floor room which we plan to hv in line to our convenience.
