As you have said it is 600 sft, For it to look spacious, the simple thing is to use light colours. Always paint your ceiling white. Never clutter with too much of furniture and furnishings (keep it simple) for it to look spacious. Give importance to the detail. Opt for a flooring which is also light in colour (Marble is always better).
To make a room look spacious, make sure nothing is dividing the room like partitions etc. Allow ample ambient light but not direct light.
Choose wall hangings etc which are small to allow the wall behind them to look more spacious.
The trick is to make use of available space intelligently.
