Well, It would be better if u avoid to have pooja room under stairs. One more thing, Are u constructing that staircase in N/E. If yes, then please also avoid this as N/E is the direction which might be lightest in the house and staircase is considered a very heavy construction. If its not in N/E it means ur pooja room is also not in N/E.In this case my suggestion is to shift ur pooja place somewhere in N/E and keep this place extremely clean and enlightened. Best of Luck.

I somewhere read that you should not have hanging bells & diyas in pooja room. Is that right ?It is a common tradition in our temples, then why do they say it should not be done in home pooja rooms ? | |
