The rate persft given in quation or tender is on mutual under standing or for which area you called for rates and what are the rates which are acceptable to you are not.
Secondly if contractor given rates for
1 stilt floor with foundation
11. First story rate i.e. above stilt
and second story rate. Now it is up to you to see the resonablity of rates and you consider these rates or not | | |

Join date: Feb 2008 | Dear Sunder mohan, It is always better to ask the contractor to detail out the components in his quotation. For example, you can ask him to provide cost of foundation, cost of stilt floor, ground floor and other floors separately. Also, it would be very helpful to define what work would be performed on each floor. Contractors do not follow a standard mechanism so once they list out the work items then you would understand the breakup better. There is a cost estimator tool that lists some of the work items that should be performed in a single story construction.
Once he gives you a rate list, you can post here all the work that he is offering and some one from the forum group would be able to review whether he has intentionally left out some thing or is double charging some thing or not.
