As ur contractor quoted a price of 1800/sft of the covered area..there must be some specifications , the covered rate will depend upon the specifications,as the structural part of the building is concerned u can not compromise ,u will have to use the first class materials and u can not cut the cost here...while finishing u can upto some extent lower the cost like in wood,cp fitting doors, flooring etc.so many items.

In my view rs 1800/sft COST is on hire side. If you have comlete drawing which you shown to contractor then it is suggested that contact at support@gharexpert.com for detail estimate with the specfication you need to emplement at yuor dream house. They will provide you detail cost of each and every item used in the house with respect to market price. after that you will be in better possition to negotiate with your contractor for cost and specification to be used.See the link given below

sir as u know the prices of material increases daily...and u can compare the labour cost of today and last two year u will come to know that it increases upto 45-50%,so the average construction start @ 1200/sqft..... ,because now a days thecosting of structure part of the building comes @ 750-800/sqft.,and remaining finishing items....so u can cut the construction cost in finishing items.

A minimal cost on the interiors is where you can save some. As per the construction of the home goes, make sure the best material is used for it. Apart from this, less rooms would also reduce your material costs. | |

Thanks for your advice. It was helpful and I was able to negotiate down the cost with my contractor to Rs 1400 per sq. foot-while not compromising on the foundations and strutctures.
