Join date: Jul 2008 | Hi Shain, Makrana first quality marble is not coming out from the mines and is not that much available. I had used Italian and it is coming out with absolute amazing finishes. But if you do decide to go for Italian, make sure you buy it from a good vendor.

You have done wrong treatment. Granite is finished by rubbing and polishing. You use acid on the top of granite which is harsh chemical, can affect the surface as scratch, pit and etch. In my opinion as the granite is natural stone and cannot take any treatment for its white ness. Hence it is not possible to bring back the whiteness of granite. Moreover you may try by grinding the surface with machine grinding and if penetration of acid is not so deep than it may be possible to enhance the beauty of floor. | | |

Join date: Feb 2008 | Hi Sonal, Katni has a greenish appearance and is reasonably priced, however many designers consider that it has too much grains. Long term durability is fine as I have seen this implemented in homes for around 8 to 10 years and it still looks decent. But it is not considered very rich stone as now a days Italian is preferred for drawing room area, but then, italian is at least 3 to 4 times more expensive than Katni. | | |
