Join date: Mar 2008 | Dear Minhaj The quantity of MS Steel is depends with design of slab. The quantity of MS Steel is required according to loading and span of slab. However in general slab requires 100kg per cum i.e 12x10x.20=24 cum = 2400 kg steel.

Minimum 8mm for main steel and 6mm for distribution but all these depends on loading condition and necessary to check for design by structural engineer

Requirement of steel depends on the loading on slab, if it is of resid and grade of concreteential building and lead tentetively 1.5 ton/m2 loading and for M 150 grade of concrete than tentatively would be 1800kg.
