We all have dreams to enjoy Diwali at its best but economic crisis spread over the world has affected Indian subcontinent too. Due to this some of middle class families may not think to re-paint their homes or workplaces. So here are few alternate tips:
1. As Diwali is festival of lights, buy some hanging lamp lights, lamp shades and some other decorative lights and place them in all rooms accordingly.
2. Candles and ‘diyas’ are essentials. There are lots of designer ‘diyas’ and candles available in local markets for decoration purpose. Just bring some of them and be delighted.
3. In bedroom, hang bright color paintings on the wall; change door and window curtains and put multi colored cushions on the bed. This will change the look of your bedroom.
4. Don’t do much in living room except for re-arrangement of furniture and curtains. In addition you can put some green plants or flower plants in corners of living room
5. Rangoli is another way of decoration. Rangoli is made by rice-grain, sawdust or chalk etc. Try to make figure of Ganesha, Swastik or anything you can imagine on the "canvas" on floor. Here are few picks as example to help you.
6. Fragrance of fresh flowers may enhance the beauty of your home too. Buy a dozen of fresh flowers and put them in 3-4 different vases and place in drawing room, kitchen, bedroom etc.
7. Buy simple earthenware pots and decorate them with your imagination.
I think all these tips will help you decorate your home in low budget. In my next post I’ll write about some garden design tips.
Till then Enjoy a…
