An Italian company, Dynamic Architecture has intended for a revolving skyscraper for Dubai; which is powered by wind turbines placed between the floors. Each floor of the building which consists of 59 storey revolves separately i.e. the shape of the structure that has 58 turbines will continue to change. The architects have calculated that the tower will generate surplus electricity to power further five skyscrapers of same size.
The building changing constantly its shape will generate electric energy for itself as well as for other buildings. 48 wind turbines fixed between rotating floors in addition to solar panels located on the roof of building will produce energy from wind and the sunlight without any pollution. The energy produced by this ‘powerhouse’ yearly will worth approximately seven million dollars. Each turbine can supply energy for about 50 families as average annual power consumption of a family is estimated about 24,000 kilowatt-hours. The building is 1.3 times more resistant to earthquakes besides being made of single separated floors that offer higher seismic resistance than any other normal building.
