Slovenian architect Ofis Arhitekti was commissioned to construct front walls of a shopping mall in Ljubljana. The existing site is listed as industrial historical area with buildings of an old butchery complex, which included the water-tower and old butcher hall.
With parking facility in 3 side of the mall it was very important to cover all these sides with decorative finishing. After calculating all the aspects, design team planned to cover only 20% of the concrete shell with perforated metal sheets. For rest of the walls they used cut metal circles. The metal chain rope was created around the metal dots with reaming amount.
Finally climbing plants (evergreen) are placed around the building which will slowly cover the elevations and will become eco-green.
