The types of paints are following.
 
1. Plastic Emulsion Paint (IS No: 5411): These paints are used on the walls inside the room. This is washable and is not suitable for external surface, wood work, iron work etc. Its life is 3 to 4 years.
2. Enamel Pain (IS No: 2933): This paint is used for undercoat on woodwork, plastered surface and iron work. Its life is 2 to 3 years.
3. Synthetic Enamel Pain (IS No: 2932): This paint is used for top coat/ finishing coat on new or old wood work, plastered surface, iron work. Its life is 3 to 4 years.
4. Ready Mix Paint: This paint is used for iron work, cast iron pipe etc. Its life is 2 years.
5. Aluminum Paint (IS No: 2339): This paint is used for steel work, cast iron pipe. Its life is 2 to 3 years.
