| Wooden Garage Cabinets and Termites
I have a chance to buy wooden garage cabinets for a great deal. My only concern is that living in Arizona we have termites. Is there anything I can apply to these cabinets as to not attract termites.

First, congrats on buying a wooden garage cabinet for a great deal, Well as for as your concern about termites here are few tips which may help you;
1. Treatment along outside of foundation:-The soil in contact with the external wall of the building should be treated with chemical emulsion @ 8 liter per sq. m. of the vertical surface of the structure to a depth of 300mm. To facilitate this treatment Roding with 12mm dia. With steel rod should be done at frequent intervals along the periphery of the building walls. 2. Treatment for Soil under floors:- Chemical treatment should be provided within the plinth area of the ground floor of the structure, where cracks are noticed by drilling vertically 12mm holes at junction of floors and walls, construction and expansion joints and cracks. In general, idea is to charge the soil below the floor at the locations of the cracks with chemicals so the termites in the soil are denied access through such cracks in the opening and cracks in the floor. Holes are also drilled at critical points such as wall corners and where doors and window frames are embedded in the masonry or floor at ground. Emulsion shall be filled of 1 liter per hole. The treated hole shall be sealed with P.O.P or cement mortar. 3. Treatment at points of contact of wood work:- All existing wood work in the building shall be treated by spraying at the points of contact with the adjoining masonry or floor with chemical emulsion by drilling 6mm holes at downward angle of about 45 degree at the junction of woodwork and masonry. 4. Provide 2 coats of wood preservatives cum termiticide over wooden fixtures.
