There are two types of door closers which are following.  

1. Door closer: This is simple type of door closer which has one end fixed with door frame of ‘Chowkhat’ and the other end slid on lock rail of door shutter. This type of door closer is fixed with wire gauze door shutters. Cast iron door closer should be used instead of sheet iron door closer. 555 mark of door closer is best available in the market.

2: Hydraulic door closer: These closers should be as per (IS: 3564-1995) universal door closers which are suitable for both right hand and left hand doors. There are four types of hydraulic door closers available in the market.
