Wooden flooring lay over base concrete already laid. The material required for wooden flooring are timber and screws. The following are some useful tips on material.
1. Timber used in wooden floor should thoroughly be seasoned as per IS: 1141 and be preserved in accordance with IS: 401. The wooden joists and wooden planks are fixed according to required thickness.
2. In some cases wooden boards are used for laying wooden flooring. 
3. Wooden blocks are also used for wooden flooring if specified.
4. Iron screws counter sank head type should have length not less than the thickness of planks plus 25 MM ,subject minimum of 40 MM and of designation of No.9 confirming to IS :451.
