Wooden tiles of premium quality 20 mm to 25 mm thick can be used for wooden flooring in the rooms where the wear and tear is less i.e. the rooms which are not in constant use such as bedroom etc. The approximate rates of these tiles vary from Rs. 90 per sft to Rs. 120 per sft according to the quality of wood and design. The fixing cost is about Rs. 10 per sft. Thus the approximate cost of 500 sft flooring would be Rs. 50,000 to 65,000.
Wooden tiles of ‘Teak wood’ 30mm to 35mm thick should be used where the wear and tear is more i.e the rooms which are in constant use such as living room or office room used as a camp office. The approximate rate of these tiles varies from Rs. 200 to 220 per sft and the labor charges are 15 Rs.per sft. Thus the approximate cost of 500 sft flooring would be Rs. 107500 to 117500.
Vitrified Tiles:
The rates of vitrified tiles of size 2ft X 2 ft with premium quality vary from Rs. 50 to 55 per sft for flooring. The labor charges and cost of mortar for fixing the tiles are Rs. 10 per sft each. Hence the approximate cost of 2400 sft flooring would be Rs. 168000 to Rs. 180000.
The rates of vitrified floor tiles of size - 1 ft. X 1ft vary from Rs. 25 to Rs. 30 per sft for flooring. The labor cost and mortar cost for fixing are Rs. 10 per sft each. Hence the approximate cost for 2400 sft tile flooring would be Rs. 108000 to Rs. 120000.

Vitrified tiles are less expansive and you can get decent two by two square feet tiles for around 50 to 60 rupees per square feet.
I personally love wooden flooring but I am not sure about the care involved. May be the members of the GharExpert.com team can help you with other cost and maintenance details. |
