DPC consists of a layer of - |
1.40 mm thick cement concrete 1:2:4 (1 cement: 2 Coarse sand: 4 graded stone aggregate 12.5 mm nominal size ). |
2. 50 mm thick cement concrete 1:2:4 (1 cement: 2 coarse sand: 4 graded stone aggregate 20 mm nominal size). |
This layer is used with water proofing compound. The DPC must extend the full width of the wall. It must be continuous for the whole length of the building. There should be no construction joint in the damp proof course. The DPC is not carried across doorways, verandah arches and similar openings. |
The dried surface of the DPC properly cleaned and painted with the two coats of hot bitumene @ 1.7 kg per sq. meter allover. |
