Feng-shui is an ancient Chinese scientific practice that tells the ways to balance the energies of the environment to promote good health, prosperity and good fortune for the people inhabiting it.

Yes, Feng Shui is different from Vastu. Feng Shui is originated in China and vastu Shastra ia an Indian phenomenon. Feng Shui literally means wind and water. One element is supposed to carry the energy and second is supposed to retain it and based on the idea that the individuals should live in harmony with their environment.
The life energy is known as Vastupurusha. Vastu works for a bounded premise i.e a house, a building, industrial area or shop. Its main aim is to create a balance between the outside atmosphere and the atmosphere within the premises. Vastu is based on the energy of the five elements i.e earth, water, fire, wind and sky.
Feng Shui is a science incorporating astronomy, geography, the environments, the magnetic fields and physics. In vastu directions, locations, shapes  and interiors are the main aspects of designing the building.
The basic objective of both these sciences is living in harmony with the environments.
