Upasna, I want to tell you that there are various types of materials which are used in false ceiling such as POP, wood, glass, fabric, Gypsum board, aluminum or steel panels, fiber board and fiber reinforced tiles.

False ceiling is used for architectural view in the offices, commercial spaces and residential houses. This ceiling is also used to conceal service lines such as electrical wiring, telephone wiring and plumbing and provides thermal insulation. It is also used for sound-proofing. False ceiling accommodates lighting-services and provides lighting- effects such as recessed and cove lighting.

POP false ceiling is commonly used for residential buildings while metal ceiling is used for large areas such as offices or commercial spaces and these ceilings are comparatively economical. Glass, wood and fabric are relatively more expensive material for false ceiling and are also difficult to maintain because the cost of their maintenance is very high.
