Ans: Garden with the house is a place for you to enjoy. Small garden needs very careful planning. There are some fundamental principal while planning the garden.

1. Provide sufficient paths for each access to anytime.
2. The shade should as pleasant to sit in as the sun shine.
3. Your garden should be as pleasant and personal as your house.
4. Diagonal path will make garden look bigger.
5. Slightly curved path, overhanging plants will look better than straight line.
6. Position of door downstairs windows and drains to be taken in a view while planning the garden.


7. The border width of the garden should not be less than 18” wide.
8. Garden should contain sum small tree, large shrubs and canopy of different flowers.
9. When it comes to planning for a variety of height and color with shrubs and herbaceous plants, those immediately around parking and pavements should have plants. Which will grow no higher than about 12’ so that car doors and front of the car can pass over the top without any problem.
10. The trees, plants, shrubs, creepers, and hedges should be 2’ feet, apart from the boundary wall and plinth protection for the safety of structure.
11. The hedging plants, shrubs and creepers should be planted 12’ apart as per their variety and roots expansion.
12. The small trees may be planted 5’ to 8’ feet apart according to their variety and their expansion above ground and conditions of their roots.
13. If one have a big plot and wanted to plant big trees such as mango, neem, jamun, mahua and bahera etc.than this should be planted 25’ feet to 30’ feet apart.
14. A grassy lawn should be developed by planting good quality doob 15 c.m. apart
