Kitchen sink is a waste appliance. The sink commonly used in kitchen is made of glazed fire clay, stainless steel, vitreous enameled steel, marble or RCC finished terrazzo sink. Sinks are available in rectangular, square and round bowl shapes.
 
Common sizes of sinks are following.

Length of Sink           Width of Sink          Height of Sink            
750 mm                    450 mm                    250 mm
600 mm                    450 mm                    250 mm
600 mm                    450 mm                    150 mm
 
The height of front edge of the sink from the floor should be 80cm.

Installation of the sink: The sink should be supported on CI cantilever brackets, embedded in cement concrete block of size 100x75x150 mm. The bracket should be fixed in the position before dado or tile work on walls is done.

 As per vastu, location for sink in the kitchen of a house is north-east
