| how to repair cracks of wall?
I have been supervising a huge building around 6000.000sgq m with 4(four) storied Provision.But after one and half years I have observed some cracks in some walls in the ground floor.I have checked some plinth beams and plinth wall,but no cracks were observed.Only the ground floor have been completed.The building has one expansion joint.Some cracks are diagonal and some are horizental and some are diagonal.

There are many causes which develops cracks in the building. Main causes of cracks in the buildings are following. • drying and shrinkage • thermal movement • elastic deformation • due creep • chemical reaction • foundation movement and settlement in soil • growth of vegetation Cracks in wall generally develop due to following factors. • Settlement in foundation • Weak mortar • Weakening of mortar due to sulphate effect. • Slip joint not proper between wall and RCC slab • Improper bonding of cross wall with main wall • Differential movement between RCC and masonry • Deflection of beam under wall • Deflection of slab For more details about cracks click on the link of following articles at our website www.gharexpert.com 1.
