Join date: Mar 2008 | Dear Pooja You should construct 9''x 9'' RCC column/ pillar but use 2nos 12mm and 4 nos 16 mm diameter bars for weight of beam and safety against earth quack.Construct all non load bearing wall 4.5 '' thick.

But should I build boundary walls 9" thick or 4.5 thick? I mean it it mandatory to construct boundary walls 9"?
Is shree cement is as good as Acc?
How to differentiate that which walls are load bearing walls or non-load bearing walls? I have gone through topic of load bearing and non-load bearing walls already. But still not clear.

Join date: May 2014 | The boundary wall has to be 9". All cements are good, the ratio has to be appropriate as per the requirement. Do not confuse with the brand. The outer walls and the wall going from the middle of the plot is can be 9". Do not confuse yourself with load bearing walls as you are using columns which are bearing the load. Take 16 mm TMT in column. 12 mm is not suggested.

Join date: Dec 2015 | Thank you Mr. prakash and Mr. Gupta,
My last question please. We have very hard soil in my plot. Can I excavate internal walls foundation little less than boundary walls foundation?
Also, I'm considering starting base 23" for 9" wall and 18" base for 4.5 inch wall. M i correct?

Join date: Mar 2008 | Dear Pooja For boundary wall 2' depth excavation is sufficient as it not bear any load only have self weight. For internal wall take at least 2' depth from natural ground and take floor level at least 2' high from road or street. Use 18'' for 9'' boundary wall and 4.5 '' wall. 23'' for house 9'' wall.

Join date: Dec 2015 | Hello Sir,
By boundary walls I mean external walls of 9" on which lanter will rest. I'm not leaving any space around the building. Did you get the same meaning Sir? Now according to this , should I follow your advice?
Also, the base of 4.5" internal walls and 9" walls should be same or can I use different? Like 23" for 9" wall and 18" base for 4.5 inch wall? here boundary walls mean exterior walls under which partions will be done
