Dear Mr. Gupta
I am happy to see your valuable inputs to various questions posted. I am planning to construct an independant house (G+1) total area about 2400sqft. I feel if I adopt framed concrete frame structure with partition walls in single brick (4.5") I would save space as against 9" load bearing brick walls. How would be the cost comparison be approximately. If I adopt framed structure can I use 4.5" or 6" wall for outer side as well apart from partition walls. Kindly respond.
Thanks
Dear Jawahar
You can proceed with 4.5'' thick wall in frame structure building. As per your quarry go with 4.5'' wall on out side which are abutting with your neighbourer walls. For detail cost see link below

Hi, i have house which is parking + 4floors.. The builder has build frame structure whereby the roof has been put on Pillar / colum and then exterior walls were put.. My query is 4.5" wall ok for outside ???.. this is a corner plot 3 side open...Please advise...
Thanks,
Varun.
Hi Varun,
As already confirmed by Mr. Gupta, I do not see a problem in having wall of any thickness including 4.5" for outside as this is not going to be load bearing wall and reduction in weight by a thinner wall would only aid in minimising the load on the structure. However it is better to check with a structural engineer with available details and the proposed addition..
