However this always doesn't give a good finish and also needs plastering, which causes further problem of chipping away in a few years.An other alternative is to use Film faced plywood material, which would give an excellent finish and if done well the plastering could be even avoided and just a suitable painting could be appli. |

answers | The overall cost depends on the area you would like to build (GF+FF). The cost I am hearing is about 1500-1800/sq ft depending on the area finish etc. Further such sloped roofing could steeply increase on the overall budget.
No doubt the arch design is good, however I am not sure how practical it would be for India as such houses are made for European kind which doesn't have boundary walls etc . |

In my experience an electric chimney (60cm width) directly over the cooking hob is the best as compared to the extract fan. Earlier I used to have an extract fan & over the period the wall and the fan used to get extremely oily which is difficult to clean. An electric chimney on the contrary sucks out the oil fumes immediately and cleaning of the filter of this chimney at regular interv. |

answers | Anurag,I guess your concern is to protect the marble floor as well against possible damages due to ladder, scaffold etc. Usually it is better too apply a layer of plaster of paris over the marble floor so that it protects against any damages. Cover the sharp objects such as ladder feet etc with a rubber sheet or thick cloth to protect against damage to the floor. The plaster of paris could be late. |
