|  Topic: Urgent help for the health of my underconstruction house due to erring architect
Hi All,
am in a major problem now. We have a turnkey project of our house to one of our kown people.They started constructing ur house and they used to mislead us in many ways. It is a 1080 sqft site, with Stilt, ground and first floor. It does not have any column footings but bult on loadbearing walls. The architect has cheated us of the money and also not provided any structural drawing. He/She has given only the floor plans.Some cracks have appeared in the structure. I am not sure whether thewals will sustain the 3 floor building. Am in bangalore. The achitect has taken lot of money in advance and not build it properly. The construction has stopped and only the structure is standing. How do I find out the health of the building. Is there anyone in Bangalore who can help me?

After reading your problem, I can not under stand that when there is stilt floor, then how you construct it without RCCcolumns, beams etc.one should have proper procedure in construction work. For your problem, Iam in view that you should take help from any structural engineer of your city, who can give solution after visiting the house construction persionally at site.He can check the foundation actual depth and width after digging at site and find the cause of cracks in the walls.

Thank you Sir, appreciate your help. it was a turnkey project and the whole project was assigned to this architect.As we are not very well aware of architecture they did not even advise us with regards to the same and when we asked they used to tell us that it is stone masonary foundation etc. We have also called many structural engineers and they are telling that they will not be able to provide us any structural drawing of the existing building as there is none with us now. Now we have planned to go to Civil aid or Torsteel and they charge around 50k to check the health of the building. This is again a hugh burden on us. COuld you please let me know whether you know any structural engineer who can help us. Once again wanted to thank your contribution to Ghar expert. Your advises are invaluable. | | |

The office of gharexpert is in newdelhi and we are also have architect and civil engineer and can give design of new work on the paper. But as we are far from Banglore so you should make arrangement from Banglore, the structural engineer have their offices of designing the building or any good civil engineer from any govt department who are taking the construction activities such as CPWD OR LOCAL PWD for solution of your problem. | | |
