Join date: Jul 2016 | sir i was saw my house photo of my contractor...and he said me that its not dangerous bt my question is that g.f beam and round column is safe or not??? because beam resting on column center half and half is overhanging...so this is the problem..and first floor over the round beam lapping is just 11"...and beam is safely landed in column...and first floor round column lapping 11" so i done welding on each of column so this is difficulty...so give me ur opinion for seeing this picture.....

Join date: Jul 2016 | and in round column contractor use 4 no 16mm diameter so its perfect for structural aspect...and lapping is just 11" so 50*d means lapping is 800mm is occur..bt lapping is in first floor 11"..so give me ur opinion

Join date: Mar 2008 | Dear Akash The main purpose of beam is to take load of roof and structure above the beam. Now in your case load is nominal and can be bear by 4.5'' wide beam.

Join date: Mar 2008 | Dear Akash The lap length should be 50xd i.e. for 16 mm dia it should be 800 mm. But when you welded the bars than 11'' is also OK.
